Librarian at the Guelph Public Library Wins Ontario's Technical Services Award
Guelph Public Library is proud to share that librarian, Thomas Brenndorfer, is the 2023 recipient of the prestigious Ontario Library Association’s Technical Services Award. This award recognizes an Ontario librarian, teacher-librarian, technician, library worker or department that has made a substantial achievement to their institution and/or the library profession in the field of technical services. It recognizes those who help with the efficiencies and improved access of materials in libraries which fosters innovation and creates a favourable environment to share ideas supporting high morale among technical service workers.
“Thomas has been instrumental in many of the changes we have seen in library cataloguing over the past many years. His work in the field of cataloguing is extensive,” shares Steven Kraft, Guelph Public Library CEO. “Thomas is certainly well deserving of this award. His passion and dedication for excellence have allowed him to present at many conferences across the globe and work with influential librarians on international committees.”
Thomas was honoured to accept this award, presented by Ontario Library Association (OLA) president Dr. Sabrina Saunders, at the OLA Public Library Award Gala on Thursday, February 2, 2023 held in conjunction with the annual OLA Super Conference in Toronto.
