Guelph Public Library: 2022 Year in Review
The Guelph Public Library continues to provide ways for people to explore their world, enrich their lives and connect with their community. 2022 was no exception! With the launch of new initiatives such as going fine free, people were welcomed back to the Library this past year with a variety of in-person programs, enhanced services and collections plus refreshed digital experiences through the library’s website.
Did you know that in 2022 over 2.13 million items were circulated, 124,957 questions were answered and 7,248 new members accessed our resources and services for the first time? Over 27,000 people participated in the 1,138 program offerings and children read an astonishing 62,200 books in the first year of the Read 1000 Books Before Grade One early literacy reading challenge. The popularity of the library’s Makerspace grew 48% as people enjoyed this community space to discover, experiment and create amazing projects beyond our imagination.
