Now borrowing: Guelph and Milton residents can borrow books from each other's libraries
Guelph Public Library (GPL) and Milton Public Library (MPL) are excited to announce that reciprocal borrowing between its two libraries is now available. Residents of Guelph and Milton are now able to borrow from each other’s libraries – all you need is a library card issued from either system to access more materials at additional locations.
“The Guelph Public Library is excited to support reciprocal borrowing in this partnership with Milton Public Library,” says Dan Atkins, acting CEO of Guelph Public Library. “By enabling our members to borrow materials from other libraries without additional membership fees, we expand opportunities for discovery, learning, and connection. This collaboration reflects our commitment to providing seamless access to information and to empowering our communities with a diverse range of resources.”
“We’re delighted to broaden our reciprocal borrowing network to now include Guelph Public Library. This initiative underscores our commitment to enhancing resource accessibility and supporting our community’s educational and recreational needs,” says Sarah Douglas-Murray, CEO and Chief Librarian, Milton Public Library.
Guelph Public Library enjoys reciprocal borrowing agreements already with Cambridge Public Library, Wellington County Public Library, and Waterloo Public Library. The addition of Milton Public Library means residents can borrow from more than 21 additional branches outside of Guelph.
