Enjoy Shakespearean Lectures this March at the Main Library

Everyone is invited to the Guelph Public Library this March to enjoy four thought-provoking Shakespearean lectures presented by local experts from the University of Guelph’s School of English and Theatre Studies. The library is proud to offer this series for the sixth year - in partnership with Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Each Thursday evening in March, travel beyond Stratford’s theatrical stage to listen and enjoy these free lectures based on a few of this season’s Stratford Festival plays.

Library CEO Steven Kraft shares, “I first attended the Stratford Shakespeare Festival when I was 16 years old. These lectures are a fantastic opportunity for our customers to connect with literature offered in the library as well as with the outside world. The library is definitely a community hub for people to explore, connect, and thrive.”

Join us at 7 PM in the Main Library (100 Norfolk Street) on:

  • Thursday, March 2 for Romeo and Juliet with Dr. Andrew Bretz

  • Thursday, March 9 for Twelfth Night with Dr. Neil Carson

  • Thursday, March 16 for Timon of Athens with Dr. Mark Fortier

  • Thursday, March 23 for The Changeling with Dr. Paul Mulholland
