The Guelph Public Library offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Each position requires different skills and availability. The volunteer programs at Guelph Public Library have varying time commitments.

We offer opportunities for the following age groups:

  • Y = Youth in grades 7-12
  • A = Adults 18 and over
  • F = Families, including youth in grades 7-12
Current Volunteer Opportunities

We are presently accepting applications for the following volunteer programs:

  • Visiting Library Service: Deliver library material to Guelph residents who are unable to visit the library due to health or mobility challenges. Requires access to a personal vehicle.  (A)
  • Teen Advisory Group: The Guelph Public Library's Teen Advisory Group helps to make the library a special place for teens. To apply, complete the Teen Advisory Group application form. At this time we are not accepting applications. (Y)
Occasional Volunteer Opportunities

We have occasional need for volunteers in the following programs:

  • Computer Literacy: Support library technology programs, answer basic computer questions, teach social media skills. (A, Y)
  • Fundraising: Support the Guelph Public Library with various activities to raise funds. (A, F, Y)
  • Special Events:Perform various tasks such as helping presenters, greeting, and directing attendees. (A, F, Y)
