Accessibility Services
Facilities
Accessibility features are available at all Guelph Public Library locations. To learn more about which accessibility features are offered at each location, please see our Library Locations and Hours page.
Visiting Library Service
Can't get to the library? We can come to you! The Visiting Library Service is a free service for people who are unable to visit the library due to age, illness or disability.
We will select library items for you based on your interests, and you may request specific items. You may borrow books, audiobooks, DVDs and magazines through the service. A library volunteer will deliver to your home.
To register for the service please contact Community Outreach Services or complete the Visiting Library Service Form.
Accessible Audiobook Service
Do you have difficulty reading print? If you have trouble reading print because of a visual, physical or learning disability the Guelph Public Library provides access to a variety of other ways to read.
While anyone may borrow audiobooks, there is a special collection of accessible audiobooks and equipment reserved for people with print disabilities. We partner with the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA) to provide our print disabled patrons access to this additional accessible material.
As a member of the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA), we offer:
- Titles for all ages in audio, e-text and braille
- More than 85,000 books, magazines and newspapers
- Materials in English and French, with expanding access to other languages
If you are interested in this service, please contact Community Outreach Services.
