  • Chocolate Mania

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the Guelph Public Library is dreaming of all things chocolate. Chocolate cookies, chocolate brownies, fine chocolate sauces, and even the secret ingredient in one’s chili – you guessed it - chocolate! Attention all chocolate lovers. Compete for the title of the best chocolate recipe in our royal city – you know the one that has the power to seduce and knock the socks of any living soul! If you have a recipe that features chocolate as the star ingredient, we want YOU to become a contestant in the Guelph Public Library’s Chocolate Mania competition at the Main Library (100 Norfolk Street) on Saturday, February 13th from 1 to 3 pm. Bring in samples of your favourite chocolate recipe for tasting by the audience and of course, to be judged by local chocolate connoisseurs including York Rd Kitchen & Chocolate Bar and other fine restaurants. Over 20 lbs of chocolate prizes (10 lbs in chocolate chips and a 10lb chocolate bar) from Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate plus $50 to York Road Chocolate Bar will be awarded to the top decadent delights! If you are unable to be a contestant in this year’s event or feel strongly that burnt chocolate is not one of your finer cooking skills you wish to share, then be sure to attend the event to become an official chocolate taste tester. Sampling the recipes is just as important as creating the chocolatey goodness! Register at www.guelphpl.ca or in person at any library location. This event is open to anyone who is 7 to 11 years, a teen, or adult. Contestant space is limited so be sure to register today for this community competition! Explore · Connect · Thrive with your Guelph Public Library! Open to adults, teens and kids ages 7 years and older.
