    ESL Book Club

    The ESL Book Club is for English language learners who want to practice their English reading and conversation skills. Each week we will read and discuss short stories and chapter books, reading materials will be provided to participants with a valid library card.   • Meet Author and Artist Nathan Adler

    Meet Nathan Adler, a writer and an artist who works in various mediums including audio, video, film, glass as well as drawing, and painting. He is a MFA candidate for Creative Writing from University of British Columbia and won the 2010 Canadian Aboriginal Writing Challenge. He is a member of Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation and is currently working on a second novel and collection of short stories.

    Main Library Morning Adult Book Club

    GPL book clubs meet from September to June. Each meeting last approximately one hour and all members are encouraged to participate equally with their ideas and opinions about the discussed book. TAG / GET INVOLVED

  • What?

    The Guelph Public Library's Teen Advisory Group (TAG) helps make the library a special place for teens.

  • Who?

    Guelph teens entering grades 7 through 12 are eligible to apply.

  • Where?

    Meetings take place at the Main Library, in the Children's and Youth Services Department.

  • When?

    TAG meets once a month from October to June. The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month beginning in October until June from 4:15-5:30.

  • Why?

    Why not? It's a chance to have your say and become involved in your community, as well as to meet new friends!

  • How?

    It's simple. Either complete the online form below or print off an application and drop it off at any Library branch. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

  • Attend all meetings and be an active participant
  • Suggest ways the library can better serve teens
  • Offer suggestions for exciting teen programs
  • Provide feedback about GPL's teen collection, including books, graphic novels, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and video games
