Guelph Public Library is looking to fill positions on the Library Board as the organization enters a period of exciting growth and transformation, including the move to the new Central Library.
Applications must be submitted by September 30, 2026. Interested candidates can complete the application form and review additional information about board responsibilities online or by contacting HR@guelphpl.ca.
The Library Board plays a vital role in providing strategic leadership and governance, helping ensure that library services continue to meet the evolving needs of the community. Serving on the Board is an opportunity to help contribute to important community initiatives, and ensure library services remain accessible, innovative, and responsive for years to come.
Board members appointed by City of Guelph Council will begin their four-year terms following appointments in December 2026.
The Board is particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience in areas such as:
- Finance and accounting
- Human resources and labour relations
- Legal, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Real estate and facilities management
Candidates do not need experience in these fields to be considered. The Library recognizes that valuable contributions come from a wide range of professional, personal, and lived experiences. Individuals who are passionate about public libraries, understands community needs, respects diverse perspectives and can commit to active participation in board and committee meetings are welcome.
