The Kiwanis Club of Guelph has donated $10,000 to support youth programming initiatives led by the Guelph Public Library.
This marks the third year Kiwanis has raised funds at their annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament to benefit the Library. This year’s tournament raised $5,000 with an additional $5,000 generous donation from a Kiwanis member to match the amount.
In previous years, the donation has supported prizes for the Teen Etch Writing Contest and the Library’s Summer Reading Club.
"We’re thrilled to be an integral partner and supporter of the Guelph Public Library,” Heather Fleming, President of Kiwanis Club of Guelph. “We look forward to learning how the funds get used to improve programming, provide new funding for new endevours, and ultimately benefit and empower youth in the Guelph community, following the Kiwanis International mission to improve the world, one child and one community at a time."
“We are incredibly grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Guelph for their generous support and continued investment in children and teens,” says Meg Forestell-Page, Manager of Public Service at Guelph Public Library. “This funding will help us build on our existing youth programming and explore new opportunities that inspire creativity, encourage connection, and create meaningful experiences. Partnerships like this allow the Library to respond to the interests and needs of youth in our community and ensure they have welcoming spaces where they can thrive. We sincerely thank Kiwanis for helping us make these opportunities possible.”
