Guelph community members can reserve the Program Room at the Library's East Side Branch on the Guelph Public Library website.
The accessible room has capacity for up to 40 people, with flexible set up of tables and chairs that are provided. There is also free access to Wi-Fi, an interactive screen for presentations and videos, and a sink and counterspace to layout snacks and refreshments.
Library spaces may be reserved by individuals 18 years or older, community groups, not-for-profits, and businesses for education, culture, or leisure purposes.
What to keep in mind when reserving a space
- Minimum of two weeks between the booking date and reservation date
- Space availability can be viewed up to six weeks in advance
- Reservations must be a minimum of two hours, maximum of four hours
- Limited to a maximum of four back-to-back reservations
- Deposits are no longer required; payment must be made in full two weeks before the reservation date either online or in-person
- Renters are required to set up and clean up the space
- Renters may cancel through the reservation tool up to two days before the event, and a refund will be issued automatically
- Confirm your registration via email to ensure the booking process is complete
Reservations are reviewed and approved by the Library to make sure requests align with policies, space limitations, and operations. Private social functions (parties, showers, wedding, etc.), trade exhibitions, religious services, and direct sales for products and services are not permitted.
Reservations have been paused while the Guelph Public Library transitioned to a new digital reservation tool in the lead up to the new Central Library which will feature 25 new bookable spaces, including recording studios, outdoor terrace, and large event venue.
